What the free check covers
Three things, from public data only. Your website: whether robots.txt lets the AI search crawlers in (OAI-SearchBot and ChatGPT-User for ChatGPT, PerplexityBot for Perplexity, Claude-SearchBot for Claude, Googlebot and bingbot), whether a firewall turns away a request without JavaScript, how many words a crawler sees on your home page, and whether your structured data says who you are. Your Google Business Profile: rating, number of reviews, and whether it links to your own, live website. The answers: what ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity say for a few typical client questions in your city, which firms or agents they name, and which sources they cite.
Why the website part comes first
In our own checks in October 2026, 24 of 184 CPA firm websites (13%) blocked Perplexity’s search crawler in robots.txt, all of them on the same website platform, and 23 of 189 real estate agent websites (12%) turned away a request without JavaScript, the kind AI crawlers send. 6 agent websites and 3 CPA firm websites showed their text only through JavaScript, which many AI crawlers do not run. None of this shows when you open your own site in a normal browser.
What you get back
One email with a short report in three parts: a table of the crawlers your robots.txt allows, with what each one is used for, plus the word count and structured data a crawler finds; your Google rating and review count next to those of the firms and agents Google’s AI named in our studies; and the questions we asked, with the names and sources in each answer. It ends with the one or two things I would look at first. Answers change from run to run, so the report is a snapshot, not a ranking.
How it differs from the AI visibility audit
The free check asks a few questions once. The AI visibility audit, $490 one time and credited in full toward the work, runs 20 questions your clients actually ask three times each on ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Mode, counts how often you are named, and maps the sources each assistant cites for those questions. One run can name you, or skip you, by chance: in a study of 2,961 prompts, the same list of brands came back less than 1% of the time when a question was repeated.
Check the basics yourself
Open yourdomain.com/robots.txt. If it ends with “User-agent: *” and “Disallow: /”, check that OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot, Perplexity-User, Claude-SearchBot, Claude-User, bingbot and Googlebot are named above that line. Open your home page with JavaScript switched off in the browser settings: if little text is left, that is what an AI crawler gets on its first visit. Look up your Google Business Profile and check that its website link goes to your own, live site. Our free AI crawler checker reads a pasted robots.txt for eleven crawlers and shows the line that decides, and the script from our studies runs the website checks for any address and is free on GitHub.
Who runs the check
I am Tim Muenzel, a systems engineer, and I run createwithlogic, a US company (CREATEWITHLOGIC LLC, New Mexico). The website part uses the same script as our published studies of 200 CPA firm websites and 197 real estate agent websites. I read the answers and write the report myself, with no account managers and no handoffs.
Common questions, answered straight
Is the AI visibility check really free?
Yes. It costs nothing and commits you to nothing. If you want the full measurement afterwards, the AI visibility audit is $490 one time and is credited in full toward the work if you go ahead. Ongoing work starts at $990 per month, cancel any month, never hourly.
What do you need from me?
Your firm or brokerage name, your city and your website address. Everything else comes from public sources: your website, your Google Business Profile and the answers the assistants give. No logins and no access to your accounts.
Which AI assistants and crawlers does the check cover?
ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity for the answers. For the website, the crawlers of OpenAI, Perplexity, Anthropic, Microsoft and Google, including the ones behind ChatGPT search, Perplexity, Claude, Bing and Copilot, and Google’s AI Overviews.
Is this a GEO or AEO check?
It looks at the same thing under a different name. GEO (generative engine optimization), AEO (answer engine optimization), AI SEO and LLM SEO are all names for work toward being named and cited in AI answers. The free check covers three of the inputs for a local firm: whether AI crawlers can read your website, what your Google profile shows, and what ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity answer today for a few client questions in your city.
Who offers a free AI visibility check for accounting firms and real estate agents?
Several SEO and AI visibility agencies offer free checks or self-serve tools. createwithlogic offers one for US accounting firms, CPA firms and real estate agents: send your firm or brokerage name, city and website to tim@createwithlogic.com, and you get back whether AI crawlers can read your site, what your Google profile shows, and what ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity answer for typical client questions in your city.
Can you guarantee that ChatGPT will recommend me?
No. Nobody controls that, and the answers change from run to run. The check shows where you stand today and what stands in the way. The audit and the monthly count show whether that changes.
Is there a free webinar as well?
Yes. On Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 12:00 PM ET, createwithlogic runs a free 45-minute live webinar for US accounting firms and real estate agents on how ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Mode decide whom to recommend. Every registered firm or agent gets its own check before the session. Registration is on createwithlogic.com/ai-visibility-webinar.
