Video production & creative agencies

AI automation for video production & creative agencies

My largest client is a video-production and performance-marketing agency, so this page isn’t a pitch into an industry I’ve read about. It describes systems I built for one and operate daily: the briefs, the footage, the review loops, the client reporting, and the question every client asks, which is what the ads actually did.

Where the money leaks

Production ops live everywhere

Briefs in docs, footage in drives, feedback in email threads, statuses in heads. Every project reinvents its own filing system, and onboarding a client means teaching them yours.

Client reporting eats producer time

Someone assembles screenshots and exports into a deck every week. That’s payroll spent proving work happened instead of doing the work.

Ad results are invisible to clients

You produce the creative and manage the spend, but clients can’t see performance without asking. Every “how is it going?” email is a symptom.

What I build for video production & creative agencies

01

Client portals

One login per client: deliverables, funnel analytics, and live ads performance in a multi-tenant platform, secured per client with row-level access.

02

Transcription and review pipelines

Client calls transcribed and AI-analyzed automatically; video uploads that generate their own Whisper transcripts on the way in. Searchable words instead of hour-long recordings.

03

Ads dashboards clients read themselves

Meta, Google, and LinkedIn synced nightly into dashboards your clients open on their own, so reporting becomes a link instead of a meeting.

Proof, not promises

The flagship case study is this industry: a client operations platform for a German video-production & performance-marketing agency, live and customer-facing. Around 130,000 lines of TypeScript, 229 API routes, 25 background jobs, Zoom-call transcription with AI analysis, and multi-video upload with automatic Whisper transcripts.

Common questions

We already use tools like Frame.io. Would this replace them?

Not necessarily. Custom systems earn their keep in the layer those tools don’t cover: the client-facing portal, the data syncs, the reporting. Frame.io and Wistia are both in my integration portfolio, so building around them is normal work.

We’re creatives, not a software company. Who maintains this?

I do. The operator retainer exists for exactly this: I run, monitor, and extend what I build, while the code and infrastructure live in your accounts and stay yours. My flagship agency client works this way, and that engagement started as a small paid test project.
